Produce desired shaped products or blanks from various forms of plastic (powder, pellets, solution, or dispersion). There are over thirty methods of forming. Its choice mainly depends on the type of plastic (thermoplastic or thermosetting), the initial form, and the shape and size of the product. The commonly used methods for processing thermoplastic plastics include extrusion, injection molding, rolling, blow molding, and hot forming. Plastic processing of thermosetting plastics generally uses molding, transfer molding, and injection molding. Lamination, molding, and hot forming are processes that shape plastics on a flat surface. The above plastic processing methods can be used for rubber processing. In addition, there are also casting processes using liquid monomers or polymers as raw materials. Among these methods, extrusion and injection molding are the most commonly used and also the most basic molding methods.
